Developing a fascination with photography in high school she went on to study Fine Arts at COFA, University NSW, majoring in photography. Upon graduating, she received a photographic cadetship with News Limited, working over the following years on The Daily Telegraph and The Australian newspapers. In 1996 she moved to London where she worked for the publishing house Duckworth. She was involved in the start-up of a new imprint and film venture set up by the company to develop literary properties for cinema. Since returning to Sydney in 1999, she has represented photographers and worked as a picture editor for a number of Australian magazines including Elle, Australian Style, HQ and most recently the Sunday Magazine, Sunday Telegraph. In 2000, Jacqui was invited by a group of photojournalists who were friends to help organise a mini-festival of their work. The event "Reportage" has grown to become a festival currently showcasing biennially in Sydney. Stephen Dupont is an international award-winning Australian photojournalist and a member of Contact Press Images. His reportage has been featured in The New Yorker, Newsweek, French and German GEO, Liberation, The Sunday Times Magazine and The New York Times Magazine. It has earned him photography's most prestigious prizes including a Robert Capa Gold Medal citation from the Overseas Press Club of America in 2006 and first places in the World Press Photo and Pictures of the Year International. In 2007, Stephen was awarded the W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography. The jury awarded the grant for his project "Narcostan: The Perils of Freedom" - Documenting drug trafficking in Afghanistan. His work has been exhibited in London, Paris, New York, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai and at Perpignan's Visa Pour l'Image Festival. In 1999 Stephen became a founding member of the first festival of photojournalism in Australia - Reportage. His photographs and artist books are housed in many Australian and international institutions including the Australian National Library and the New York Public Library. He works on long term projects around war, conflict and social issues.
